Overview
A Photography Minor offers a structured and in-depth path to students who choose to pursue deeper learning in fine art photography as a complement to their major field of study. Courses focus on creating meaningful photographs using techniques like studio lighting, digital capture & editing, darkroom, historical processes, and hybrid methods. You’ll develop projects that relate to real-world issues while referencing the medium’s history and responding to current trends in photography.
Our faculty will guide you through technical and conceptual aspects of the medium, while emphasizing the photograph’s potential to engage meaningfully with ideas and society. Students who combine their majors with a Photography Minor graduate better prepared to work in the arts or media and appreciate the essential role that photographic images play in shaping visual representation throughout our global community.
