Courses Approved for the L&S International Requirement

Courses Meeting the L&S International Requirement
(with GER noted)

The College of Letters and Science requires all AAS, BAGL, BA, and BS students to complete courses with significant international content. Courses meeting this requirement have been approved by the L&S APCC and are listed below. In addition to the listed courses, all Study Abroad classes fulfill the international requirement. Students who graduated from secondary school in another country are exempt from this requirement. For certain courses, only the specified course topics fulfill the requirement.

As on the Courses Approved for the L&S Breadth Requirement catalog page, we also provide information here on courses that meet the University's GER requirements. The key on this page aligns with that on the Breadth Requirement page, displaying both pre-Fall 2026 and Fall 2026 GERs. Students who matriculated before Fall 2026 may use pre-Fall 2026 GER, while those who enroll starting Fall 2026 will adhere to the revised GER.

It is important to note that double-counting is permitted for the international requirement; students can take a course that satisfies both a GER requirement and the international requirement. Additionally, courses may also fulfill the L&S Breadth requirement along with the international and GER.  For cross-referencing courses and their corresponding L&S Breadth categories, please visit the Courses Approved for the L&S Breadth Requirement page.
